In a fit of enthusiasm, I got around to doing some more photo processing not one, but two sets of photos.
The first are from Bassendean's Multicultural Food Fair and Fireworks last month. There was some good food and some great music. It had threatened to rain but nobody got wet.
To the east was dark meanacing cloud but the western half of the sky was much more pleasant. As well as causing a number of aircraft to be diverted over us, it provided opportunity for a nice sunset.
I enjoyed the music, which included Los Chasquis (Andean), Kashtany Duo (violin and accordian), and - my favourite of the night - the Nigewell Kora Group.
I also learned that two-second fireworks shots are better taken using a tripod, rather than a rather unsteady hand (I was patrolling the fireworks exclusion zone border at the time).
Once again, the Bassendean SES unit participated in the short ANZAC Day march along Old Perth Road in Bassendean. Everyone gathered in the carpark behind the pub:
After the march and service, everyone went to the RSL for nibblies and drinks. It was a bit better attended this year, probably because it wasn't pissing down with rain this time.
We popped home to change and rest a bit, before driving to Toodjay for Peter and Jenny's 14th wedding anniversary. Congratulations, folks. The drive there was scenic, and the view from the first floor balcony:
