Christmas

Had Christmas Eve dinner at my grandmother's, with my dad, and my aunts Darcia, Jane and Paula. Paula's son Jake was also there. I still occasionally forget that my cousins are no longer babies. Anyway, the food could only be described as insanely delicious. The baked peaches to go with the ham were tasty and the stuffing for the turkey was the best I had ever tasted.

Stayed up until 1:30 doing the usual last minute wrapping and stuff. Was coaxed out of bed at 9am to pick up som groceries. Went against Linda's suggestion and only get half the number of whole cooked chickens she asked for. Which was still twice as many as was actually required...

Got the closest we've been in a while to arriving on time at my mum's place for lunch. Very nice food (though admittedly not quite as nice as last night's dinner). Won two games of pool against Linda. After dessert the present unwrapping (and subsequent wrapping paper ball throwing) frenzy took place, revealing that my brother Chris appears to have far too much money. He'd mailed an X-Box pack for us, and a digital camera for mum. The postage must've been astronomical. Had a nice dip in the pool, followed by a stint in the spa, which were warm and hot respectively. Lugged home a large pile of other booty, include some clothes, a food processor and a ceramic filtered water dispenser.

Then we came home to prepare and eventually eat part of a small mountain of food prepared under the direction of Linda. Another frenzy of present opening occurred, yielding a couple of Futurama CDs (discs 2 and 3 of first season, dunno why disc one was unavailable), a tangram pack, another puzzle type thing, a box of Guylian chocolates, GTA3 Vice City, a Centro voucher (ugh, will have to go to Galleria to spend it).

Now uploading photos. They're taking a long time.

Tomorrow we're having lunch with Linda's best friend Emma, and hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have caught up on sleep...
