Incidentally, the 'crows' that you saw are actually Corvus coronoides; or the Australian Raven. Believe it or not, pretty much all the solid black, 'crow like' birds we get in South-West Western Australia is the adaptable, smart, white-eyed Australian Raven. And they are awesome.
I LOVE those pictures. The magpie is a juvenile. And in the second, the raven in the forefront is a juvenile, and the one behind it is the parent (because it has the white iris). Eeeee! Bird squee.
And I had a really good time last night! You guys are great company. :)
